SC / ST and PH (Divyang) / Female are exempt from the application fee under this notification. All fee-paying categories are charged the same ₹100. Payment is accepted via debit card, credit card, net banking, and offline bank challan. Pay only through the official portal linked on this page; the fee is normally non-refundable once the form is submitted.

SSC CHSL turns on speed and accuracy in the objective tier, followed by a typing or data entry skill test that is qualifying but strictly timed. Candidates who prepare only for the objective paper and neglect typing speed are eliminated at the last stage every cycle.
